About This Space: A Timeless Goan Retreat

 

Welcome to my beautiful Casa Abuela, where old-world charm meets modern, soulful comfort. As your host, I've curated this villa to feel like an authentic, aristocratic Goan home—a quiet respite from the world.

Step inside and be greeted by high ceilings and an abundance of natural light and air filtering through the glass walls. The spacious living and dining area is the heart of the home, decorated with the unique pieces of art and quirky décor I've lovingly collected over the years. This isn't a rental property; it's a home built with heart, offering a rare glimpse into the elegant Portuguese-Goan lifestyle of the past.

But the real magic is just outside: the villa is perfectly oriented to give you stunning, uninterrupted views of the lush green paddy fields right behind the property. Sit on the porch or the balcony, and just breathe.
 

The Comforts of Home

 

The Kitchen & Common Areas: My kitchen is fully equipped and ready for any culinary endeavor, from a simple cup of tea to a full Goan feast. You’ll find all the modern amenities, plus a fine collection of crockery. The whole common area—from the bright porch to the airy living hall—is designed to be a comfortable, breathable space for you to gather, laugh, and relax.
 

Bedrooms: Three Unique Sanctuaries

We have three special bedrooms, each with its own charm:

• The Ground Floor Retreat: Perfect for those who prefer convenience, this peaceful room is located right on the ground floor and includes its own spacious attached bathroom.

• The First Floor Master: Climb the stairs, passing a gallery of my favorite quirky frames, to reach the master suite. This is a bright and luxurious space that opens up to a private balcony on one side and a sunny patio on the other. It also features a large, private attached bathroom. Don't forget to look up—you might notice the tiny, colorful birds I hung from the ceiling!

• The Magical Attic Bedroom: This is my favorite! Tucked under the high, sloping roof, the attic bedroom feels straight out of a fairytale. It features beautifully restored furniture, an elegant brass bed, and glass doors that open to a delightful reading nook with a cute window. It's an ideal hideaway for reading, sipping your evening tea, or for kids to enjoy a game of Monopoly. (Please note: The attached bathroom is on the floor below, as the attic is a quiet, self-contained space).

Guest access

​

Guests have access to the entire property including the common swimming pool area which has an attached kiddy pool. The swimming pool uses special Japanese chemicals as an alternative to chlorine.
Note: Pool is now operational. Pool timings 8am-7pm.

Other things to note

​

-Cleaning of the house is done every day.
-The linens and towels will be changed after every 3rd day. If you'd like to change them before that, there will be an extra charge.
-Laundry services (washing, drying & ironing) are available for a small nominal fee.
- We have basic cooking utensils like pots, pans and cookers.
-Guests can easily order food through Swiggy and Zomato as delivery services are available in the area. Additionally, there are several local cafés and eateries nearby that guests can explore and enjoy during their stay.
-Guests are requested to submit soft copies of their ID proofs 2 days before arrival and show the hard copies of the ID proofs while checking in.
-Let us know in case of early or late check-in, and we shall try our best to accommodate your needs based on our availability.
-In case of any help/hassle, do reach out to us so we can help you or mitigate the problem before you check out.
-Abusive or threatening behavior towards staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Guests who exhibit such behavior will be asked to leave immediately without a refund."
